My Story
Gary McDougall is a retired Lead Systems Engineer at NASA, an award-winning author, and an inspirational speaker whose life story redefines the limits of human resilience. Living in Belize as a child and surviving the catastrophic Hurricane Hattie, Gary's journey is a cinematic odyssey of overcoming "impossible" odds. From enduring extreme childhood poverty, abuse, and systemic barriers in New York City to navigating nine-near death experiences, Gary's life serves as a living testimony to the power of faith and the "American Dream"
His acclaimed memoir, "Don't Tell Me The Ain't No God" has earned prestigious honors, including the International Impact Book Award, International Christian Book Award, and the Prestigious International Hope Book Award. Today Gary dedicates his life to inspiring others and proving that science and spirituality are not at odds but are dual engines that have propelled him from the brink of despair to the stars. He resides in the "Rocket City", Huntsville, Alabama where he continues to encourage the next generation of survivors.
